What Does No-Fault Mean?

Florida is a “no-fault” state. This simply means that each party involved in a car crash accident seeks recovery from their own insurer for the first portion of their medical bills, regardless of whose fault the accident was. No-fault does not completely eliminate the risk of you being sued if you were ticketed for the car crash or found to be the at-fault party in the car crash. No-fault is also known as Personal Injury Protection (PIP) Coverage under your automobile policy.
