John Cain

John Cain is a highly skilled trial attorney. Though he is based in Tampa, he has litigated cases from the Florida Keys, South Florida, Central Florida, North Florida, and throughout the Florida Panhandle. He has tried numerous cases throughout the State of Florida, which has earned him a
reputation as a top-notch trial attorney. Mr. Cain has handled thousands of cases over his legal career.
Mr. Cain has spent his entire legal career as a trial attorney. He has successfully litigated against large law firms and corporations. He has represented many businesses and individuals, to include Insurance Companies, Department Stores, International Artists/Entertainers, DJ’s, and
individuals all over the United States and Internationally. His primary areas of concentration include litigating complex serious personal injury cases, wrongful death cases, propane/gas explosion cases, general negligence, and business/contract disputes.
Since 2004, Mr. Cain has shared his passion for helping others through his knowledge and trial
skills. He has trained many attorneys, insurance adjusters, and legal assistants. He has worked closely with Judges and mediators. He served as an Adjunct Business Law Professor at the University of Tampa for many years. As an adjunct professor, Mr. Cain’s lectures included negligence, criminal law, business law, negotiations, and alternative dispute resolutions, amongst many other topics.
Mr. Cain was also licensed by the State of Florida to teach insurance adjusters continuing education courses. He taught insurance adjusters throughout the United States covering topics such as How to Avoid Unfair Claims Practices, Bad Faith, Insurance Regulations, Florida Statutes, Civil Remedy Notices, Adjuster Code of Ethics, Proper Handling of Insurance Claims, General Negligence, Deposition and Trial Procedures, Discovery, and Wrongful Death.
Mr. Cain served as an Assistant State Attorney in Hillsborough County Florida from 2006 through 2008. During his tenure as a prosecutor, he tried numerous misdemeanor and felony cases to verdict including many capital offenses. Mr. Cain was instrumental in the prosecution of the only known Civil RICO case to ever be prosecuted in Hillsborough County. As a prosecutor, he trained many younger prosecutors, who have gone on to form their own law firms and have successful careers of their own.
Background
As a young kid, Mr. Cain grew up in Sarasota, Florida. After completing Sarasota Middle
School, the Cain family moved to Quito, Ecuador, where Mr. Cain’s mother is from. He attended
and completed all of his high school in Quito where he also became fluent in Spanish. Upon
graduating from High School, Mr. Cain returned back to Florida where he enlisted in the United
States Marine Corps.
Mr. Cain served in the United States Marine Corps upon graduating from High School. During his five years in active service, he deployed all over the globe on behalf of the United States. His service included many deployments on land and sea. After his active-duty service, Mr. Cain returned to his home State of Florida where he attended Florida State University and obtained his
bachelor’s degree. Following college, he went to the Syracuse University College of Law where he met his wife. While in law school, Mr. Cain had to rejoin the Marine Corps in response to the 9/11 terrorist attack. Thereafter, he graduated from law school in 2004, immediately moved back to Florida, passed the Bar, and started a family. Mr. Cain honorably concluded his military service with the 4TH Assault Amphibian Battalion in Tampa, Florida.
The Cain family tree delineates a history of proud military service that goes back many generations. Mr. Cain’s father honorably served in the Army during the tail end of WWII. Mr. Cain is the proud father of three kids and can be found spending most of his time with his family and cheering them on in their sports and adventures. Mr. Cain’s extended family is quite large and they try to get together on Sunday’s for family BBQ. Mr. Cain is a fan of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Tampa Bay Rays, and the Tampa Bay Lightning.
