Membership with the Million Dollar Advocates Forum® is only available to attorneys who have successfully obtained a settlement or verdict worth more than $1 million. Only 1% of America’s attorneys hold membership with this prestigious, and both Tom Carey and Jodi Leisure are members.
Every year, Super Lawyers® publishes a list of attorneys in each state who have passed a rigorous peer review and rating process. A candidate must first be nominated by a fellow attorney, then undergo evaluation and review by Super Lawyers® and a number of other attorneys in their same practice area. A maximum of 5% of Florida attorneys are published in each year’s list, and both Thomas Carey and Jodi Leisure have been selected for inclusion over the years.
Board Certified in Civil Trial Law by the National Board of Trial Advocates
In order to legally claim specialization in civil trial law, an attorney must first become Board Certified. The National Board of Trial Advocacy requires an attorney to demonstrate good character and extensive practice in civil trial law before even applying. They must then undergo extensive review and testing to receive their certification as a specialist in civil trial law. All of our attorneys have passed each step of the process and are certified trial advocates with the NBTA.

Similar to the NBTA listed above, an attorney can become a board-certified specialist in trial law with their state bar. The Florida Bar Board of Legal Specialization and Education requires candidates to demonstrate exceptional character and ongoing practice in their area of specialization. All of our attorneys are certified specialists in civil trial law.
