Caitlin Carey

Attorney

Caitlin Carey is a dedicated personal injury attorney serving clients in the State of Florida. A 2025 graduate of Stetson University College of Law, Caitlin earned her Juris Doctor summa cum laude, distinguishing herself as one of the top students in her class. Caitlin is proud to have graduated as a member of the part-time program at Stetson, having worked at Carey Leisure Carney throughout her time in law school, which helped her gain valuable experience in the legal field prior to being sworn into the Florida Bar.

During law school, Caitlin demonstrated exceptional leadership, scholarship, and commitment to service. She served as Senior Notes & Comments Editor on the Stetson Law Review, where she played a key role in shaping and refining legal scholarship. She also immensely enjoyed the mentorship aspect of the role of Notes & Comments Editor and having the opportunity to guide fellow students through their writing process. Caitlin is very proud of the several students she assisted who went on to be published in the Stetson Law Review.

Her article, Florida Dram Shop Laws: The Shield for Commercial Establishments That Cuts Through Victims of Drunk Drivers’ Rights to Redress Like a Sword, was published in Volume 54, Number 4 of the Stetson Law Review in Summer 2025. As Tom Carey’s daughter, the story of the death of her father’s first wife has always had a profound impact on Caitlin’s life. Caitlin wrote her article in honor of Joni Carey, hoping to give Joni’s experience a voice and continue Carey Leisure Carney’s efforts to advocate against drunk driving.

During her time at Stetson, Caitlin was also the President and a founding member of the Maritime Law Society, reflecting her initiative and passion for developing new opportunities for her peers. During her time with the organization, Caitlin planned educational events and collaborated with other student organizations to enrich the student experience and offer pro bono events to help the local community.

Caitlin’s academic excellence was recognized with the Dean Thomas F. Lambert, Jr. Award, presented to the part-time student with the highest GPA in her graduating class. She was also honored with the Stetson Law Review’s prestigious Big Three Award, acknowledging her as a team player, a leader, and someone who worked to leave the Journal better than she found it.

In addition to her academic and leadership achievements, Caitlin gained valuable practical experience as a Law Clerk with Stetson’s Jacob’s Law Clinic for Democracy and the Environment, where she contributed to meaningful legal work addressing environmental issues. During her time at the Clinic, Caitlin enjoyed assisting in preparing research and written products that were being prepared to be submitted to the United States Supreme Court.

Today, Caitlin brings the same dedication, attention to detail, and client-focused approach to her personal injury practice. She is committed to advocating for those who have been injured and helping them navigate the legal process with clarity, compassion, and confidence.
